I guess I'm not surprised. I was always skeptical EY could pay 140 for a freshly minted LLM. That's close to senior manager money.

That's not accurate. 140k is not close to what senior managers make in these groups.

I've heared rumors that EY is negotiating on a case by case basis with individual offers whether to keep at 140k. So very strange...

Pretty sure a senior manager with an LLM makes sufficiently more than 140.

EY was actually considering 140 for new LLMs. Apparently there are LLMs that were offered 140 last semester.

Are you sure some people were offered 140k? EY NY didn't even recruit at NYU in the fall.

Non-JD senior managers start around 140. At least my buddy did. Granted, he was in WNT and not M&A.

My point was I don't see the firm getting enough value add out of freshly minted LLMs to pay that much.

I seriously doubt first year senior list price is 800/hr, given that WNT/M&A partners were getting billed out for 1100/hr 2 years ago.

Even with a discount this seems optimistic. Nobody is paying 520/hr for a senior. In real life you would be lucky to get 600/hr for a manager.

In any case, the proof is in the pudding. It doesn't look like EY is going to be paying that 140k to quite a few people.

LOL ok. I used to work with a couple of Level E Partners at Deloitte. They did not bill 1700 an hour. Nobody in the industry commands 1700 an hour. If EY is billing 1700 an hour they are probably not getting a lot of work.

When my clients engaged WNT they did not pay anywhere close to that much. We handled all the billing so I saw the rates that they got. Unless rates doubled in the last year I don't see 1700/hr being possible.

Look at it this way, if the Big4 were getting 500-600/hr doing tax diligence, biglaw would be chomping at the bit to do tax diligence.

Just out of curiousity, do you actually work there?

The billing rates listed above are 100% accurate. That poster clearly works at EY, as do I. Junior people handle all the billing, so we know the rates being charged.

The 140k offers were 100% real. The new offers are back down to 115k.

Any word on offers at McDermott Chicago?
1. No, but I got an offer from my first choice so I withdrew from McD before I heard back.

2. During my callback they told me they would be getting back to people by the middle or end of "next week" (this week).

That's great, but how about finding an appropriate thread?

Does anyone know why EY stopped giving out the $140k offers? I'm curious because it seems weird. The offers were confirmed, is it possible that the $140k was only for certain groups and those who received offers just weren't a part of the groups that pay the $140k?

Also did the pay raise affect JDs too? Or only LLMs?

Anyone know how much each of the big 4 pay for non-nyc major market LLM positions?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
