Big Texas firm associate here. What info do you want? Typical 401(k) w/out matching (it's my first so I don't know what other metrics there are to compare by); $10k advance available; phone and phone service stipend; decent healthcare w/ HSA; pays relocation costs.

I've heard that Wachtell now pads the chain they use to keep you at your desk.

What benefits specifically w/ Covington?

Edit: I'll answer as many specifics as I can think of. $30 for dinner if you *WORK* past 8 (as opposed to stay - if you're working from home you still get it) - you can use seamless or you can just turn in a receipt. Uber/taxi/Lyft/metro fare home if you're working at the office past 8. 6 weeks parental, 18 weeks maternity leave, 4 weeks vacation, standard shit w/r/t insurance and stuff. That's all I can think of at a general level, but if you have any specific questions I can answer them too.
Thanks! That's great. Is there a gym at the office or one nearby that they have any sort of arrangement with? Are there normal metro benefits or just if you work past 8?

Firm will provide up to a $10k advance, pays full relocation costs, great health plan, $210/mo gym stipend, and one of the best 401k plans I've seen (and I've done a lot of research on them) in terms of funds that are offered (but no matching). The firm's BYOD program provides $1,000 every 18 months and up to $65/mo in data. Black cars available if you are at the office after 9 and dinner ($35) if you're in after 6:30.

If you have any particular questions, happy to answer them.
What's a great health plan? Can you provide details?

Gym on site plus really close to specialized stuff like yoga and soulcycle. You can also have money added to your metro card tax free from your paycheck, but other than that I can't think of anything. Reimbursement is only after 8.

A couple have been covered on here if you search back through the thread. But they don't all have the same benefits--that's the point of this thread, that benefits vary wildly among peer firms. Can you specify which firm you are wondering about?

accrued vacation is a thing. could accrue 4 weeks at last shop, got cashed out when i left. new shop i get 4 weeks use it or lose it no comp for it. difference is over 15k. not a huge deal unless you want to leave early which more people do.

You know, I'm sorry but I actually threw away that sheet after I selected mine. If I find another I will post the info. I just remember comparing the plan to the ones that friends at Wilmer, SullCrom, and Skadden have, and ours covered at least as much for a lower rate.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
