Probably the best way to read the situation. If you're getting a CB, they're clearly still interested. Especially if the CB comes at some expense to the firm. It might still affect the offer decision, but they thought enough of you to want to put you through the wringer of multiple interviews.

Do your best in the CB and see what happens. They might pick the top 10% T14 instead of you after the fact, but at least you were competitive going into it. Beyond getting the CB, we're all reading tea leaves.

I also had a callback with BB Dallas earlier in Jan. I followed up with them last week after getting an offer to be a summer clerk for a federal court. They said they'd get back to me early this week. 3.6 at Top 50 + diversity + unique work experience prior law school.
