If you don't mind sharing - did you have your CB already for Latham? Also, why do you say DC/NY? Did both offices want you?

And congrats on your offer from Weil!!!

Thanks! I did the CB for Latham, have't heard anything yet. The leadership/diversity academy is part of the "one firm" deal. You get picked up for it and then they put you somewhere I guess? He asked if I had a preference between the two, and I gave reasons for both.

Hm, I had a CB at Latham too, but I didn't get that question. Both offices must be interested - good for you :) You should be proud of yourself. Mind sharing if your CB was in NY or DC?

I have a 20 minute screener interview later next week with a partner. Is this normal or common for 1L SA interviews? Anyone else in a similar situation?

Very common. They want to see if they would like to bring you in for a callback interview, which will involve meeting with attorneys of varying seniority, which will ultimately lead to a decision of whether to offer you the position. It's pretty standard operating procedure for law firms.

Maybe a little off topic, but firms I've never even applied to email me about attending receptions in my area. Do our schools give out information to employers?

Has anyone heard back from Cravath? It's been radio silence since the initial email confirming the receipt of my application.

Doing some prep work for an upcoming interview with DLA. Any of you who have interviewed already want to share what kind of questions you've been getting? Is it pretty much just the usual basic personality type questions?

You are probably better off focusing on what questions you are going ask. These are far more important, IMO, than the questions they ask you. Most firms are going to ask generic questions - i.e. why law, why this practice area, why xyz city, explain x about resume, etc.

Not op but I'm in the same boat. LA office. They're coming to UCLA for an early OCI (only 1L students, interviewing for SA position)

For those keeping score at home ...
Screeners coming up this week for Alston Bird, Frankfurt Kurnit, Weil, and Sheppard Mullin/Mastercard; all for NYC. Seems like a bunch of firms are just getting around to screeners now - I applied for almost all of these at the beginning of Dec.
