My K&E interview was also the worst of my life. It was a partner on his phone and a woman, so idk if it was the same pair as the other anon.

It was just awkward and weird, and I thought 5 mins in that there was no way I'm getting a CB. I think I left at around the 15 min mark. Worse than that super awkward telephone interview I did as a 1L looking for a 1L summer job.

Got CB. Didn't take it (although only because I accepted an offer already; I probably would have taken it just to scope out the office).

It's not that K&E is bad. They do fantastic work with a lot of high level clients in a lot of different markets. They just appeal to a specific group of people. It's not bad to be a super bro. People can thrive in the K&E culture and be very successful. It's just bad to not be a bro in a bro environment, and at least they plainly make it known during interviews. Others you might not realize until you are already committed for the summer.

I wouldn't call my K&E interviewers "bro"... more like that nerdy kid in high school that tries to act cool. Actual "chill bros" were people I enjoyed talking to and naturally made me feel at ease, and that was DPW and STB.

I wouldn't call DPW attorneys "bros" either.

Please describe this comical bro/frat-ish behavior.
+1
Parts of this will sound unbelievable, but it really did happen to me. 2 interviewers: Late 30s male partner and young female associate. For the entire interview, male partner is on his iPhone. He occasionally smiles at his phone and grunts, suggesting he was not answering emails or doing anything work related. Male partner is very casually slouched back, half into the couch (we're in a hotel suite), while female associate is sitting normally on a chair. Male partner asks literally no questions and shows no interest in my responses. At the end, we get to talking about the actual office, and male partner tells female associate she should visit his new office, which is much larger than his old one, because now it better matches "other parts of him." He went back to his phone; we both awkwardly looked at each other and acted as if that didn't just happen.

Everyone else I knew who interviewed with them also said the male partner was on his phone, didn't say a word, and was generally rude/uninterested.

Didn't take the CB. I didn't know it was possible to think of oneself as so cool when your practice and life consists of tediously submitting SEC filings.
Pretty sure I would have cracked up at that point.
Yeah, that's an awesome interview story.

I'm intrigued to see that UVA and GULC are so low this year and that Harvard is high here. I wonder went caused that.

Is Latham DC one of the firms that hired like their entire summer class pre-OCI? I know a few did.

I don't think so. At least 2 of my friends at UChi got their offers from OCI.
