So.. does anybody have an idea of what happens at the honors interviews? Beyond the obvious things that every interview entails, of course.

I was told that you'd interview with several people, and also that you should be prepared to give them an opinion on the death penalty because all crim division attorneys will be expected to work on some death penalty appeals.Anonymous User wrote:So.. does anybody have an idea of what happens at the honors interviews? Hi, not currently applying but plan to next year and am looking for advice. Any sense about how not having strong California ties are looked upon for this program? Does going to a California law school make you more competitive than a non-California T14? (assuming high rank, etc.) any help would be appreciated!

If you're from CA then I don't think going to an out-of-state T14 instead of Berkeley or SLS would hurt you. But if you don't have any ties and go to an out-of-state school then you might have trouble convincing them that you're really interested in representing California. I was asked a lot about my connections to the state even though my resume is extremely Californian.Anonymous User wrote:Hi, not currently applying but plan to next year and am looking for advice. On an unrelated note, now that we've interviewed anyone know the average timeline to hear back?
