Is it safe to assume then that if we didn't receive a call Friday, we're not getting an offer?Anonymous User wrote:Congrats!Anonymous User wrote:Because I received a call and an offer (duh). Having worked in federal offices as a contractor and fed employee since 2001, I would suggest not expecting things to run on an expected schedule in the last few weeks of Dec.
As such I would not assume that a lack of contact means a nonoffer at this point.

Apologies all. I read the letter wrong. We have until Thursday. So, they're probably doing a new round of calls this Friday!Anonymous User wrote:I wouldn't say that. Got an update from HUD: HUD has made all its offers (10) and does not plan to make anymore. We're supposed to get "status" letter within two weeks.

Haven't heard anything since mid-October when all I got was an infamous ambiguous notice of results simply saying I was eligible.Anonymous User wrote:Has anyone heard anything from the SEC? Do they send out ding letters?

Still have not heard anything at all from the IRS. No chatter whatsoever since the demographics questionnaire. I am not sure if they send out dings or not, but reading the prior posts it seems they do. Anyone heard anything? Anyone gotten an offer from the Midwest, specifically Chicago?

I accepted an Honors position (not DOJ), but an offer that is much better for me and my family has come up. What are the consequences of backing out at this point?

Which agency and how long ago did you accept? Have you gotten your "official" letter and started the background check?Anonymous User wrote:I accepted an Honors position (not DOJ), but an offer that is much better for me and my family has come up. I imagine the consequence is that you would likely burn a bridge at x agency, but it sounds like that shouldn't matter much to you given the better opportunity for you and your family. People generally understand that these things happen.

I don't feel comfortable saying which agency, but I do know that the background check has not started yet. At least that.Anonymous User wrote:Which agency and how long ago did you accept?
