JD/LLM, no accounting background.

Hours vary. Typically get out between 6~8. Some late nights close to midnight, but no work on weekends.

It’s generally not. Not OP, but I’m a 3L and will be making in the 120-130k range in a large secondary market. Probably 1800-1900 billables if I had to guess. Sounds like OP is getting screwed.

$95k base salary.
Formulaic bonus based on hours billed over 1500 (1/3 value of hours actually billed to client)
Discretionary bonus at year end (5k last year)

a) what kind of legal job/firm/office they work at -- associate at mid-size firm
b) how long they've been working there -- 1st year
c) geographic area -- small market in the South
d) yearly salary -- $105k plus 12% IRA contribution, not bonus eligible in the first year, no idea after that

b) Been here about 6 months. 4 years in NYC big law.
c) Secondary market
d) $160k base + $100k in RSUs. 401k match, generally 10-6. no weekends. annual raises depending on performance.

d) 68K, good health and dental, defined pension

Hours vary from 50-70hr weeks when legislature is in session the first half of every other year to 40hrs other times, get time off for hours worked over 40/hr week

They really stick it to AUSAs salary wise, huh? I’ve got a buddy with 4.5 years exp, fed government in a secondary market making 120k. Why are AUSA salaries so low?
