If you don't mind questions, what does your firm target for your bonus? Also, did you come from biglaw? If so, how long were you at the firm for before moving in-house?Anonymous User wrote:a) registered investment advisor

Re: LEGAL SALARY DATAPOINTS
Out of order: The simple answer is yes (not a major market); approximately 3 years in private practice; TBD, I would safely bet the under on 25% of base for the discretionary bonus to start.synergy wrote:If you don't mind questions, what does your firm target for your bonus? This sounds like a sort of project I would like to do. If you whip up a template for me, I'll gladly enter all of the data.Danger Zone wrote:Thanks for volunteeringnunumaster wrote:Someone turn this into a spread sheet

Alright, I've finished 8 pages so far. I'm going to stop for the day and resume when I get some free time over the weekend. Needs to be cleaned up a lot, but I'm just going to take this one step at a time.RedPurpleBlue wrote:This sounds like a sort of project I would like to do. Re: LEGAL SALARY DATAPOINTS
Do you have any suggestions regarding categories? Also, do you want all of the info on one sheet that you can sort by A-Z (and thus firm/gov't/etc. will group up) or do you want me to separate Firm/Gov't/Etc. into separate sheets? I could also do both. I don't really mind. I just want a product that's useful for everyone and convenient to use.nunumaster wrote:

I know I'll never be rich but I feel comfortable now compared to my state prosecutor salary (which was half what I'm making now).
Let's see of this administration tries to alter pay or benefits and if so I may have to rethink long term plans.

Thanks! That is fantastic. The only suggestion I would have is to add the poster (if not anonymous) so it would be possible to look through their posts in case they have ever offered other insights regarding their job, benefits, etc.RedPurpleBlue wrote:nunumaster wrote:Someone turn this into a spread sheet

Re: LEGAL SALARY DATAPOINTS
This is a good suggestion. If I implement this, it will be sometime next week, because I have a lot of work to do in the next few days. Try to be patient though, because I'll be PMing each user one by one to get their permission. I don't want to be attaching usernames and job/salary info to a document that the original poster has no control over without getting their permission to do so first. I'll make sure to post again when I've updated the sheet.Roy McAvoy wrote: Thanks! That is fantastic. Re: LEGAL SALARY DATAPOINTS
In house as underwriter of niche insurance products (quasi legal)
2-3 years out
NYC
Hours are generally 9-6 and rarely includes nights and weekends
$130-150k base with about 15% annual bonus
Health insurance and 401k but no match
Couldn't be happier. What a sweet gig compared to firm life.

Quota: 1750 billed (not billable) hours but flexible on this as long as work quality is good
