The email I received for the first round indicated that the first round interviews were being conducted for last week and this week -- ending today. Based on that email, I think all interview invitations have been extended. UNLESS, their comment about "end of the month" indicates there's two separate first rounds, but based on their hiring practices in the past, I find that unlikely.
Yea, my best guess is that at this point, the invitations to interview have all been extended. I've already given up.

Emailed yesterday about a second interview scheduled for next week. Based on the timing of my last interview, I'd guess they are setting up interviews with 1 week notice, in order of when you were interviewed in the first round. First Round finishes today and they told me the Second (Last?) Round starts on 1/20. No word on how many days for the 2nd round but I'd guess they're ending on 1/27.

I interviewed on Tuesday. And my 2nd is on the 28th so interviewing apparently goes until around the end of January.

I wonder how many candidates are left at this stage. It seems like there will be two weeks of second rounders, too.

I hope they are still extending invitations tomorrow. Trying to keep the hope alive... lol

When I interviewed it seemed like there were three different panels interviewing one candidate per hour (two others in the waiting room who were taken for interviews by different attorneys before me). If they were doing this about seven hours a day for all eight days, then they would have interviewed about 168 applicants (3 x 7 x 8). The second round will apparently be more like one interview an hour, seven hours a day, for eight days (i.e., probably around 56 interviewees, which is 1/2 of 168). So my guess is they made about a 50% cut after first interviews.

Obviously that's just speculation.

And for what it's worth, I heard from a current employee that they may hire more than 30 examiners this year. So if the above numbers are close to accurate, then second round interviewees have a decent shot.

They are definitely interviewing in February, as mine is scheduled then. But I'm not sure how long they will extend to.

Best of luck to everyone.

Well I'm thankful for TLS. You guys have been helpful in flushing out the process for future rounds....even if there's a lot of speculation involved

There are apparantly 40 positions available and they will be split into March and May classes. I was recently invited for a second-round interview. Does anyone have any details on what that may be like, apart from what's already described in the Glassdoor posting? Thanks, and good luck all.

I submitted my written statement on 12/18. I received my first interview email on 12/23, the interview was scheduled and held on 1/12/14. I attended via a skype type service. The interview email stated that "Interviews will begin on Monday, January 5, 2015 and will continue through Thursday, January 15 from 9 am to 4 pm (not including Friday, January 9)."

What I have been told by the interview team:
They are planning to hire 40 people. 20 to start in early March, 20 to start in early May (they do not have a classroom space big enough for all 40 at once)

The second round of interviews, which have to be on campus, are expected to start on 1/20 and they will let me know as soon as possible if I am invited (I live in CA).

There are 17 different legal departments, each with their own lead attorney, so they will want to interview candidates they think are a good fit for their department.

They also said they are looking to extend job offers in early February, which implies that interviews will be done by then.

My Background:
JD 2010, LL.M. Entertainment and media law 2013. I applied and got invited to write the statement in 2014, but did not receive an interview. I went to a currently unranked law school for both degrees.

I hope they email me on Tuesday for a early February interview, last minute flights are expensive!

Has anyone heard anything concrete about how many are being interviewed in round 2? Based on numbers it seems unlikely they are doing more than 60 but I've heard up to 100..which still gives candidates a good 40% shot.

And apparently the round 2 interviews are two back-to-back panels of 8-10 managing/senior attys. who are kind of shopping for candidates they think would be a good fit for their offices.

I can basically confirm what everyone else has posted. I was told there would be a total of 40 new hires divided between March and May classes. I had my interview at the end of last week, and I was informed that the second interview process would begin quickly. Given the timeline and the fact that others have received 2nd interview invites and my inbox is empty, I have to assume that I didn't make it to the next round. Also, the interviewers indicated the 2nd round interviews would consist of separate interviews with two panels of office managers. Then, the final candidates would be selected through a draft-like process. Good luck to those that remain in the hunt!

I had my second round interview on Thursday, January 22. They told me that they were interviewing a little over 100 people in the second round and that they were planning on filling 40 spots. They hope to start extending offers on Friday, February 6.

Did anyone get a sense of whether accepted applicants could preference which starting class/month? Didn't get a chance to squeeze in some of my more logistcal questions and am just curious. Best of luck to those rounding out the second round!

For anyone that went through a second round interview, how did you feel walking out? More or less confident? Was the interview mostly Q&A or did it develop into a conversation?

I recently finished my second round interview but it's difficult to gauge how it went. I felt that one panel was more personable than the other. While one panel was strictly/mostly Q&A, the other panel was more conversational and the interview flowed more smoothly. I'm curious to know if others feel the same.

Thanks, and good luck to all that are still in the running.

I thought both panels were a good mix of conversational flow and straight Q&A, but I could have had completely different panels on a different day. I felt confident, but with a <40% chance I'm trying not to get my hopes up. Good luck to all! We'll find out soon enough..

Both of mine were heavily Q&A, though one panel was noticeably harder to read/more rigid. And while I felt pretty comfortable with one panel in particular, comfort isn't something to really hang my hat on, so I certainly won't be holding my breath.

From what I've heard the various panels members are sort of shopping for candidates who might be a good fit for their specific teams (apparently it's a draft-like process), so one rigid panel doesn't rule anything out.

Anyone else get a timeline for offers? The above adds up with previous years..wonder if they'll issue all the offers on Friday or stagger them.

I asked about this when I left and I was told possibly as early as Friday and for up to the next two weeks. So let's just relax these next couple days. I for one plan to hit up the town before Friday.
