When I asked in my interview, they said they would give 4 weeks notice to the October class and once they get that "squared away," they will make offers for the January class in early October. Wrote that down right in my notebook as they said it. Hiring 25 advisors for each class. No idea where that "80" came from.

Mary Denison talks about hiring fairly regularly, and has stated publically in official communications that at least 80 will be hired for the fiscal year.

People likely assumed they were doing all of the hiring from this one posting.

Has anyone been contacted yesterday or today? When I asked my HR contact person on Monday, she told me that the successful candidates would be contacted for reference check in the course of this week or coming "weeks".

Dying inside bit by bit.

Also, I was the first to report a reference check on Monday. I was mistaken.

I got a call from a 571 number which I couldn't answer at the time and let hope get the best of me. There was no other reason for me to get a call from a 571 number, so it had to be a reference check, right? Once I listened to the voicemail later in the day I wanted to die. It was just someone that had called the wrong number. Sorry about the false report

I was one of the other two posters who was contacted Monday for reference checks. Sounds like they are working on October class right now.

Also a previous poster who got the call on Monday for reference checks. They called me again today and are proceeding. I was told I will receive an email to provide certain information, such as proof of bar admission, etc. was also informed that the entire first day would be an orientation, which isn’t surprising. Just awaiting the email now.

For those who received calls on Monday, are you guys licensed attorneys or did you guys apply for the law clerk position?

I applied for the law clerk position but I’ve since become a licensed attorney. They asked about that in both the calls and in the second call told me I would need to provide proof of bar membership.

Hmm. If they asked about it in the first call, it seems like those that took the bar in states with slower reporting times, or those that failed the July exam are fucked.

I wouldn’t say that necessarily. I think they asked something along the lines of “Are you awaiting bar results.” Since I already received my results, I told them that I passed

You have 3 chances to pass the Bar once hired. Do not worry about that.

I'm guessing their fear is moreso

USPTO calls for reference check
"Are you awaiting bar results?"

"No, I did not pass and will be retaking in February."

"Oh...well we won't actually be contacting your references now. Have a good day don't hesitate to apply again!"

I was the one who got a call today.

Just wanted to let you all know that I thought my interview went terribly. I was on the verge of a panic attack and butchered multiple answers.

The first thing I did after leaving the building was text my girlfriend "Well, that's not happening. Don't really want to talk about it right now but I'll call you later."

So don't give up hope just because your interview could have gone better!

Anyone know if there is employee parking available?

For those of us still waiting, has anyone’s status changed on USAjobs.gov (ie to signify that they have not been selected for the oct OR jan classes)?
