SA Housing Swap Thread

Post by Anonymous User » Sun Feb 05, 2012 12:15 am

Many of us will be working in different cities. Rather than find a place to rent in an unfamiliar housing market while wasting money storing furniture or subletting your apartment to some college student who will probably trash it, I hope that some of us can use this thread to trade apartments and save time and money.

(Not sure where this belongs, legal employment seemed relevant)

What a great thread idea!

I'm interested in finding a place (preferably studio) in NYC for the summer; also trying to sublet a room in Berkeley. PM me! Thanks.

DC Place available. U Street area near great nightlife, 1 block walk to Green/Yellow Line.

3 story beautiful rowhouse, with nice backyard with outdoor furniture and grill.

4 bedrooms, and at least 3 of them are available for the summer. Prefer subletting to other law student types.

Also, I'm looking for NYC, like everyone else.

Not SA, but am working in different city.

Have a room in a 3-bedroom apartment in NYC, close to the 1 train (by Columbia). Rent is $1200/month.

Looking for south Bay area/Silicon Valley, preferably for $1000 or less.

Doubtful that anyone will need it, but, I have a place in Cleveland, and I'm looking for DC. And I have a cat - which I say because apparently most places in DC are not pet friendly.

Also, might I suggest instead of straight apartment swaps, we just use this as an availability thread? You know, you might sublet from one person, but sublet your place to another.

Looking for a place in LA, preferably closer to downtown than the Westside.

Have a large furnished studio w/hardwood floors, new appliances, full bath, full kitchen, walk-in closet in Cambridge MA (2 minutes from the Porter Square T stop, and a short ride away from State Street or Back Bay stations).

Looking for sublet in San Francisco. Not sure if I will be able to do a swap, lease is expiring and might move. However, would be happy to try to help you find something else if needed. I live in LA, 20-30 to downtown.

I have a 2 bedroom apt available in Boston right on the green line. Alternatively, you could rent just one room. Perfect location at Harvard Ave, near all the best restaurants. Hardwood floors, spacious, great natural lighting, and pet friendly.

I'm looking for a place in Chicago.

Have a two bedroom apt in Chicago. 1100+ sq feet, two bathrooms, and a ton of closet space. Lots of natural light (seven very large windows throughout the apt). Roughly a half-hour commute on public transit to get downtown, but less than fifteen minutes if you have a car. Building has a fitness center, parking garage, restaurant (that delivers to the rooms), convenience store, doorman, (I'm sure some other things I'm not thinking of), and very easy access to the path along the lake (perfect for running or biking).

Looking for a place in NYC with easy access to midtown.

I have a great 1BR in Boston. 2min walk to B and C line, 10min walk to Fenway Park, 15min walk to Coolidge Corner. Commute to downtown would be 20-30mins door to door.

I am looking for a place in Orange County, CA. Ideally a 1BR apartment, but I'd be down for a single room in a 2-3BR place.

Please note, a SWAP IS NOT NECESSARY, I am more than willing to sublet my apartment for the summer to anyone interested and figure out my own thing in OC. If interested, send me a message and I'll fill you in on the details.

Perfect opportunity for UC Irvine kids with a job in Boston for the summer.

Looking to sublet 1/2 of a 2 bedroom apartment (split kitchen, living room, bathroom; individual bedroom) in Arlington, VA. 10-15 minute walk from Court House/Clarendon metro (on the orange line). Cost is around $1200/mo. once you add in utilities. Parking available for $50 a month. Ammenities include: in-unit washer/dryer, pool, clubhouse, gym. The complex technically allows pets, but if you want to bring them there's additional fees we'll have to deal with (deposit, pet-rent, etc.) that are required by the leasing company.

PM or e-mail me for more details or if you're interested.

i am looking to sublet my $1200/month brooklyn 1BR apartment (5 minutes to the A/C, ~15-20 mins to fulton st stop; 10 minute walk to the 4/5 on franklin ave) for anything in west LA/century city area. utilities usually run about ~75/month (including internet). awesome apartment with easy access to manhattan, especially if you are working at a firm near fulton/chambers st or further uptown on the A/C/E.

You will have two other roommates, each with their own room. Lots of common space (dining and living room). Wifi, all utilities included, pm if interested.
