This is brilliant.

I'm currently in the process of trying to predict admissions and a lot of the calculators throw out vastly different numbers. Do you think by taking an average of the law school calculator (LSC), hourumd, and the percentage range offered by LSAC you would get the most accurate figure? Obviously then you would factor LSP in somehow because it doesn't use the percentage format. I only suggest the averaging method because there appears to be large discrepencies between LSC+LSAC versus hourumd especially when it comes to the higher ranked schools. Equally, once you get to the lower ranked schools, LSC and hourumd seem more in line with one another while LSAC seems to become more conservative. Thoughts?

What would you consider to be the most accurate predictive measurement on LSP? Obviously the consider, weak consider, etc... information is helpful but it seems as though there should be more division within categories particularly when it comes to considers. Would looking at the % at/below be the next logical step for getting a clearer picture? Also, out of curiousity, what are the dividing points between the different categories?

(For reference, the only reason I ask is because I'm trying to choose which schools to apply to but really am not interested in anything where I am a strong consider. I'm trying to formulate a plan based on the majority of schools in which I am in the consider category and am trying to see which of those are more safe than others.)

I'm really liking the Chiashu graphs. It kind of beats looking at LSN's graphs, because it's very clear cut. Though if it's outdated, not sure how helpful it will be. Oh well, at least right now it's boosting my self-esteem because I seem to fair better on those graphs than on law school predictor.

I really think there should be a general note concerning the viability of these calculators/predictors when it comes to URMs. I appreciate the people who worked on these programs, but for URM's especially, I think the predictive power of these programs might be a tad compromised and should be prominently noted on all of them. I'm making the inappropriate assumption that my cycle might be representative and I'm aware of the problem with that...but had I followed the overall predictions of these programs I certainly wouldn't have gotten into a few higher up schools.

Are any of these prediction calculators more or less accurate for non-traditional applicants or are they mostly applicable only for undergrad/people who are 1-2 years out?
