1st year
FALL: 2.15
SPRING: 2.7

2ND year (deans list)
FALL: 3.62
SPRING: 3.75

3RD year
FALL: 3.575
SPRING: 3.01

4TH year
FALL: 3.356
SPRING: 3.46

CUM: 3.24

I have always worked 20+ hours a week during school and have taken 1-2 summer classes. I know my GPA is low, but factoring out freshman year im a solid 3.5. Do you think this is a strong uptrend? Also will this uptrend help cover up my freshman year. I will write an adendum explaining why my freshman year GPA was so low (i was working as a waiter/caterer with crazy hours and finally left and got a steady job during sophmore year). Any advice would help. Thanks.

How is it a strong upward trend if your GPA dropped .5 during your spring jr yr?

Yes, but the huge drop would need an explanation just as much, if not more, than an addendum about your freshman yr grades. That's just my opinion though
