Just get a piggyback ride from any one of the many hipsters wandering around downtown Carrboro. I'm sure they'll get an "ironic" kick out of it.

Should we assume you don't have a car? I'd suggest getting a bike if that's the case.

I do have a car but I meant for when school starts. For instance, going to games at Kenan, DSC, and the Bosh...I imagine there won't be many places to park. Also, for nights out at the bar, I wouldn't want to drive.

On big game nights, you can take the Tar Heel express from Carrboro Plaza on 54. For going out drinking late, I think it's either walk, ride a bike or get a cab if you don't want to drive.

My wife and I took the bus from Carrboro to Franklin Street on our anniversary and took a cab home (about $10).TheDreamKeeper wrote:I do have a car but I meant for when school starts. Re: UNC 2012
games at Kenan/Dean Dome.. to those living off campus.. there is a park and ride system that is very efficient and cheap my parents used to take it for home games when they were in town... games at the Bosh = plenty of parking on stadium drive or near the law school, if not theres is parking at the rams lot or in the adjacent lot to the business school
in terms of going out at night.. i lived about 4-5 miles from franklin street.. cabs were inexpensive 10-12 bucks... but if you dont plan on being wasted there is plenty of parking available... (TIP-park in the lot near the church across from Ye Olde Waffle Shoppe, cops never check it at night and it's free compared to the two lots on rosemary) also there is parking near Pantana Bobs and La Rez... you can also park at Granville/University Square area as long as your car is removed by 8 am in the morning...
if ya'll have any other UNC questions just let me know

Well, I got my schedule. Class starting at 8:45 a.m., MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY, and ending at 3:40 Mon-Thu and 2 p.m. on Friday.
If I go on a killing spree, you'll all know why.

I've got my class schedule too and it's the same 8:45 to 3:40... Anyway, how do we know what "college" we are in? Anyone else trying to buy books this weekend to take advantage of tax-free? I'm not sure if I can do it online or not but will check soon.

I got mine too, and I think I'm going to buy my books this weekend. I was considering buying online, but apparently they said it could change. I might go through the school this semester.

Thanks for that link! I'm in Brandeis. I just ordered my textbooks from student stores. The tax still shows up when you check out but I called and they said they take the tax off when they ring it up and before they charge your credit card. (Returning the textbooks won't be a problem if they switch up the schedules.)

I'm also in Brandis. Looks like we're split up for Property.kpillai wrote:Thanks for that link! I'm in Brandeis. I just ordered my textbooks from student stores. Did you find the book we need for RRWA? I can't seem to find it.
Legal Research: A Practical Guide & Self-Instructional Workbook doesn't seem to show up when I search for it. Do you know the ISBN?

Anyone else in Aycock? I'll refrain from making any obvious jokes about that one. We all agree it's pronounced "A cock," right?

I have 8:45 AM classes M-F as well. I can handle the M-TR mornings, but I would've liked a later start on Friday.
I've been spoiled by undergrad schedules.

Has anyone looked into UNC Law's compatibility with Macs? I need a new laptop for school.

I believe the testing software requires Windows. So you'd need an Intel Mac with BootCamp or some other way to run Windows software (Parallels might work).

I'm not sure but I think that the exam software SecureExam has a Mac version.

So it looks like I will be joining everyone at UNC this fall. I look forward to meeting everybody. Hopefully we can increase the UNC TLS presence this year. There seems to be very few current UNC students on this site.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
