South campus is affordable.. but Tigerland is definitely not where I would want to be. It's cheap, but it's full of undergrads and partying.

Re: LSU 2012
I haven't requested anything yet. Still waiting to file my FAFSA b/c they will not let me use last years' tax returns and my husband has yet to file his for 2008. He's a business owner and they always file for an extension.
So, this late in the game, I have no idea where I am going to live or how I will pay for law school and really, just about to lose it over all this. Ugh.....

Hmm.. maybe I am just overlooking something, but why does it concern HIS business taxes? I assume you had your own job, so you have filed for your own taxes separately (again, I assume.)MLong wrote:I haven't requested anything yet. Re: LSU 2012
hahahah - clearly you have never been married, my friend. Once you're married, it's all relative. I can't even think about anything relating to law school without also involving him.
I even filed my own taxes 'married - filing seperately' this year, just to try to circumvent that, but LSU Financial Aid office said no dice. I have to wait for his.
It's all about the "household's" ability to pay.
Still can't find a place to live yet. Craigslist sucks. Every other post is a scam. I need to just head up there this weekend. Hope you guys are having an easier time with that.

Thanks for the heads up about the Facebook group. Have most of you already secured somewhere to live or are you slacking in that department (like myself)?

I'll amen to that! Being single is so much easier in so many ways!! But, I wouldn't trade him.
GaGirl - don't worry. Gittar is making dough and playing video games all summer. And, if Fossilcrew can't find a third wheel, he will be out on the street too. Lastly, as of now, i am still without dwelling.
So, you're not behind any of us!

Oh, thanks, group me in together with the lazy asses. I happen to have accomplished 5 gold stars on EVERY song on Rockband. That takes dedication and determination, both of which are essential for law school. Duh.MLong wrote:I'll amen to that! Being single is so much easier in so many ways!! But, I wouldn't trade him.

Re: LSU 2012
Guys -
I took a look at last year's class schedules to get a feel of what the average day would look like, and it seems LSU's scheduling is very different from other law school's schedules obviously due to teaching both common and civil laws. For example, CivPro is split up at LSU as CivPro I and CivPro II, each offered in separate semesters whereas (for example) UCLA teaches it in one semester. Contracts at LSU is also only 3 credits versus 5 credits at UCLA, but LSU teaches Obligations (also 3 credits), which is contracts for civil law...
Anyway, my point - so there are many study guides (Example & Explanation series, Nutshell series, etc) out there for common law classes like Torts and Contracts, but are there study aids for civil law classes?

Re: LSU 2012
I want to stay in the south so of course LSU is on my list for this next application cycle. Just curious on what cities yall are targeting to work in after you finish? N.O., B.R., Houston, Biloxi, etc...?
I imagine yall would know a lot more about LSU job prospects than me. Thanks.
