hey y'all, i'm coming from texas, and while i have family in maryland about 15 minutes away and an old roommate at GULC, i dont know anyone starting at AU in the fall. SOO i'm hoping to find a roommate at admitted students weekend (i'm looking for 1-2 to live in adams morgan) OR through the admitted students blog which should get up and running sometime in may/during the summer.

i suggest we keep this thread open though. i've heard horror stories of people finding their roommates on craigslist and i'm not really down with that...

As an alternative to craigslist American's website has some boards for both graduate and undergraduate students to post inquiries about housing on which you can register as a guest

here's a link: http://www.american.edu/ocl/housing/aca ... m?OpenView

Yes. on the red metro line is best, otherwise you will have to transfer trains on top of having to take the shuttle bus to WCL.

Also, I believe the metro bus line has a route that goes past AU, so you could also live along that bus route. I know one of them is the N6. Might want to check online.

Anyone planning to study abroad while attending WCL? Hong Kong or The Hague look like great opportunities.

Yeah, I want to. I am getting a degree in French in addition to my other major and spent four months abroad in Paris. I would love to do it again in law school, especially so i dont lose any of the language! But some of their Asia programs look awesome too.

Ameican was actually my EDO school so I put down my seat deposit back in October. Stoked to be out on the East Coast, DC is a really exciting town. In town this weekend trying to buy a condo, expensive for what they are really. 300+ a sq foot. Wow!! Looking in Petworth/Brightwood areas, seem to be safe enough and really pretty nice.

American really does seem stingy on the scholarship/aid front. Got all sorts of offers, waivers etc from other schools but really like the International Program at American... Really want to spend 2 years studying abroad nice dual degree option. Paris is my #1, anybody that's been there would agree I think.

Thinking of going to ASD end of April anyone else?

I just noticed on my <my.american.edu> thing that my financial aid package consists of only loans, and def not enough to cover American's tuition. It may turn out that American is my only option, though ... is anyone else in my position? If so, what are you considering?

Also, can't make the ASD because I live in Japan, but to those of you who do go, please post your impressions! Thanks :)
