stupid question but does anyone know if they're giving out free stuff at the ASD?

At the one last month they gave out something thats like a metal nalgene bottle, which is pretty nice. Also, a pen and a usb thumb drive (don't know how big it is).

sweet! any t-shirt?

Unfortunately not at the last one. Who knows though, this one might be different. I'm not planning on going so I'd appreciate it if you let me know what you end up getting.

MoMoney....do you think ASD was well worth going? or could i pretty much get what i needed from a regular tour or through my own visiting of the campus? i live very close so getting there whenever i want is not an issue

Why does no one want to go to the Fordham ASD? lol. ASD's are a great introduction to the school. I had a lot of fun at the GMU event last week. You get to meet other prospective students, hear from career services, listen to student panels, sit in on an mock class, etc. Obviously things you can't get from a tour. A tour doesn't really tell you much anyway, since all law schools have the same basic format (library, classrooms, atrium...)

I think it's worth going to, especially since you live close by. galobi posted a pretty detailed description of what went on in the first page of this thread, give that a look if you didn't already and you'll know what to expect and see if it's worth it for you.

to be honest, its not that i do not want to go, because i do think it would be interesting/informative, its just that it is a serious chunk of time on a saturday....i would be much more inclined to go if it were say 9:30-noon with lunch to follow, or even 9:30-3:00, but 9:30-5:00 is a long day

its not pure laziness, and i'm not downplaying the research that should go into something like this, but after a 75hr work week, i'm not really looking to add another full day onto it

Folks, go to the ASD if you can. It's a really good opportunity to get a feel for the school. Fordham will be putting on their best recruiting efforts, and after a long application cycle, it's nice to get some love. Besides, think about how you decided where to go for undergrad - doesn't a campus visit carry a lot of weight?

jrock - I'm going to the ASD this weekend. Really looking forward to it.

I think you should just dress casually. You'll stick out like a sore thumb if you wear a tie or something.

wear jeans, dress shoes and a button down shirt (untucked). Best of both worlds.

dude just go for however long you want and leave. At least have the opportunity to speak with other potential classmates and look inside the law library/classrooms/dorms. Then go home with some memorabilia.

For those interested in government/public interest, Fordham announced a new LRAP award on March 24:

6 months... I know that doesn't help you. I was accepted in October. They just sent them.
