You have received info about admitted students day? All I've gotten was a save the date type thing.

It's on the website, under the admitted students heading.

Ha, that's me, taking a nerd hit for the future Hawkeye team.
I'm sure I speak for everyone when I offer thanks.

Has anyone been able to log in to ISIS yet?
I've been able to log on there for a while, it's how I used to check the status of my app.

Ok, got a response from the Admission woman (very helpful, by the way). She said the reception is casual attire; suit/tie is overdressed. So that means, if you want to look like the gunner you are, wear a suit and tie. Me, I'll take a sweater, button-up, and nice pair of jeans.

Not going to be at the reception; will be at admitted students day. Very glad I only have to travel six blocks to get there.

I'm going to both. I want the full treatment, haha. Unfortunately, I have to travel over 6 hours. Lucky.

Was a formal announcement for the ASW ever sent? I got the email in early January but don't remember getting anything in the mail. It's only 3 weeks away!

Thanks for the info crystal, I'm glad I can go in jeans and not look like slob.

I got a formal invite the other day. It was a nice greeting card type thing.

Thanks. I'm pretty sure I didn't get it yet (I'm on the east coast). Are you near IA?

Important question: Where will your allegiance lie for football if you end up at Iowa for law school?

Well I grew up an Iowa fan, and my whole family is Iowa fans, so I don't think the transition will be that difficult. I'm definitely getting season tickets! Iowa State will always have a small place in my heart though.

I'm excited to have a football team that will actually win games!

Does anyone know if they offer to put students up with current students for the ASD?

Got a call from the Dean of admissions today. Iowa has really been showing a lot of attention (and I like it!) with all of these letters, emails, and calls i've been receiving. I just wish I found out something about schollys....

Rainmaker, did you ask Collins Byrd about when you might hear on scholarships?

No, unfortunately I was in class when he called and got the voicemail. Seeing as how I'll be in school the whole day and my phone is acting up (the keys stopped working, ugh) I think I might just send an email about it. Have any of you asked?

I was too chicken (also, sick and half-asleep when I answered). Let us know if you get an e-mail response – he seemed like a nice guy.

I debated creating a new thread about this, given all the bullshit being spawned right now by JDU posters regarding the job market, but I figured it was most pertinent here.

For anyone who the JDU douchebags may be getting to; if you are going to school in Iowa, we have an anticipated shortage of 150,000 skilled workers by 2012 (convenient, huh?).

--LinkRemoved--

I know Iowa may not be everyone's first choice for a career (admittedly, mine either) but it's not shaping up to be the cut throat atmosphere of East Coast law.

So I just got my scholarship offer via snail mail for Iowa. FULL Tuition Law Opportunity Fellowship for the entire 3 years plus a Research Assistant job for 2L and 3L. This is probably the happiest moment of my life lol. Wow, to think I was just about to stop considering Iowa because how high the price would be considering my other options. This changes everything!
