There will be one letter consistent in each of your class listings except for your LWRAP section.gntsf12 wrote:how can you tell what section you are in?

This may a be a silly question. But does everyone have six courses listed? I have six classes listed instead of 5. The last one is LAW 599 and I dunno what that is...?

Hey my friend-- the last course listed is in fact the Professionalism Program, which we complete during Orientation. Looking forward to randomly running into you again, soon.

Is anyone else shocked to find that the bookstore actually has lower prices than Amazon in some cases?

I think this means we're supposed to go to the photocopy center (in the law school?) and get the photocopied materials... Also, I'm planning to buy the LWRAP textbook from the Emory bookstore b/c it's only $33. Amazon has the book for $26 new, but I don't think it'd get here early enough for me to complete my assignment before Thursday.Monday morning you will learn both your letter section (A, B, C, D, E, or F) and your LWRAP section (Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, or Neptune). Please purchase both the photocopied course materials and the textbooks for your LWRAP section.
When you have your coursepack, please check your LWRAP section’s syllabus to find the assigned reading(s) for Thursday’s class. Note that LWRAP sections Venus (Prof. Carroll) and Mars (Prof. Lynch) will have readings posted on Facebook; the other five LWRAP sections do not have any readings posted electronically.

Anyone know where we are supposed to be tomorrow for "pre-orientation student activities"?

Re: Emory Class of 2012
I'm pretty sure BLSA has an event/mixer on Monday; that's what the old website said anyway. (It's still available through Google's cache.) Some of the other minority student groups might have events on that day as well... A friend of mine who was admitted and chose not to attend mentioned something about a LALSA event.ig1983 wrote:Anyone know where we are supposed to be tomorrow for "pre-orientation student activities"?

Re: Emory Class of 2012
Does the schedule say "Pre-orientation student organization activities"? My guess would be that they're referring to student-created clubs on campus. The facebook group has received several posts encouraging us to come out for their events. My guess is that it's probably going to be something like a job fair, only with student clubs instead of jobs. I might just go wander around campus and see if there's anything there worth doing.

Crap, Monday isn't as far off as I had thought when I made that last post... I looked down at my calendar/clock and realized it's just 25 minutes from now! I guess it's time to start doing some of that reading.

lol @ SC. I feel the same way. BLSA and LALSA both have events tomorrow but I think ig is referring to the volunteer activities and noone I've spoken to knows where those folks are meeting. Maybe they're only informing people who confirmed attendance early.

Re: Emory Class of 2012
Yeah, I totally misread (or didn't read) the question. I guess I'm just used to all the "What the hell does this mean?" questions that have been posted on TLS and on facebook. There have been three or four notes left on the facebook group wall about the service projects, so maybe you could send a FB message to the people who left those notes? Also, if they didn't leave an email address, you can find it here.jamaicanjynx wrote:lol @ SC. I feel the same way. Edit: They're making us work way too hard to figure all of this stuff out.
