And using the numbers from Class of 2011 after their 1L year, I got these numbers. Remember, of course, that this assumes a normal distribution, which is unlikely to be the case....the numbers will be less accurate at the margin, as the distribution will probably be positively skewed, and the outliers will make things unpredictable in reality. The top 10% may be fairly accurate, but above that, who knows.

Feel free to criticize my uber-rusty math. There was once a time when I wouldn't have had to go looking for the formulas in order to do this

Top 2% = 3.95
Top 5% = 3.83
Top 10% = 3.73
Top 25% = 3.56
Top 33% = 3.49
Median = 3.37

Wow thanks! Even if the numbers are skewed a little, it is still awesome to get an estimate. I find those numbers surprisingly low, considering how generous our curve is at UT; I hope the curve is good to everyone . I have all my grades but LRW, so my GPA is pretty much staying where it is until finals this semester!

hey everyone....i got accepted to UT with some $ and I love the school. very likely i will be there next year. i have some questions though so i thought i'd come here.

i am interested in taking the big law route. can anyone give me the current situation with recruiting prospects at UT law?

also, what is the student culture like? i'm a current UT student and like the school very much, but i was wondering if the law school is similar.

Any advice on the best supplements to use? (i.e. For Crim law, Delaney vs the E&E; for con law Chemerinsky vs the E&E, etc)

From what I remember, Berman focuses on the codes quite a bit and uses Dressler to sprinkle in some details. You probably won't need a supplement for him.

Does anyone know where the chancellor gpa cutoff usually sits?

The only currently available rising 2L data (C/o 2013) puts the top 25% at 3.62, not 3.56. Thus, I think those numbers are a bit low at the top. --LinkRemoved--

I think the top margins drop from the first to the second semester but then rise during 2L and 3L. That's the rumor anyway. Thus, C/O 2014 top quarter is 3.63, so maybe 3.60 after 2 semesters? Looks like I'm going to narrowly miss law review (top 12.5% for "grade ons")
