Does NYU let you purchase books by charging them to your student account? They did this at my undergrad, but I don't see anything on the website and don't want to go down there, get all my books, and not be able to buy them.

I have no idea, but on a tangentially related note I biked down to the bookstore today, bought my books and biked back to my apartment only to realize that the clerk charged me for a book I didn't want (corporations) and slipped it in my bag.

So I had to bike back in the 80+ heat which was fun.

haha well I went down to the bookstore to ask my question about charging to student accounts and the lady looked pretty pissed off. so heads up, don't ask that question. they don't like it.

Yikes. Yeah this heat is not fun. The guys that delivered my couches to my 5 flight walkup apt this morning looked ready to murder me by the end. Can't even imagine biking around in it, leaving my apt to get lunch was enough for me.

5 flights! My heart goes out to you. I moved into a 4th floor walk-up 2 weeks ago and it was awful. I didn't have movers, though, so it was me that looked like I wanted to murder someone.

One my profs basically sent out a one line email to the effect of 'No assignment first day of class, relax and enjoy orientation.' Even though what this email really meant was 'STOP EMAILING ME BECAUSE YOURE FREAKING OUT.'

Anyone doing any of the optional activities weekend? I'll probably end up doing one of the three, I think.

I think I'm going to do something during each session. The events look interesting and I have nothing better to do.

Looking forward to meeting you all!

I'll probably do one or two of the activities.

I may just be an idiot but I'm having trouble submitting? Where is the submit button? (I'm using a Mac if that matters at all.)

I have a Mac too, and the submit button is near the top of the screen, at the right hand side of the purple bar.

Thanks. Apparently Macs don't come loaded with Adobe Reader, just another application (Preview) that read PDF files (hence my confusion). I downloaded Adobe Reader and can now see that purple bar. Oh, the joys of having a new computer...

So there was a guy that came to registration this morning in a coat and tie. I knew law school would be like this, but didn't expect it to be that bad.

Might have been taking his picture and wanted to be in a tie... nothing unusual last year at least.

Anyway, take it from a rising 2L. Use this week and the next few weeks / months to go out, have a good time, meet people, etc. If you spend these months studying 24/7 you'll be wasting your time and also miss out on finding your niche. Good luck everyone!

Aren't we supposed to have Lawyering assignments for tomorrow? The guidebook for orientation said our assignment should be in the envelope we got today but I didn't have anything in there... is it just the case that got sent out a few days ago?

I think that by Lawyering group assignment they meant which Lawyering group you were assigned to.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
