Ok I officially hate NYU for throwing an open bar party the night before requiring me to be up and cogent at like 8am.

Party was fun though.

Kinda ready for orientation to be done I have to admit...

plus 1.5 hours tomorrow about the exclusionary rule... kinda crazy the amount of time we've spent on it considering classes haven't started. in general sitting in Tishman has gotten old...3 and a half hours total of that tomorrow.

I have Arthur Miller for CivPro and we will be talking about Pennoyer v. Neff on Monday. That's about as bad as it gets.

Pennoyer v Neff had me on the verge of hurling myself out of the window last night.

The 60 pages of contracts (which apparently was only really 50 but I didn't get the memo) had me wanting to hurl self.

Funny, I felt the same way ... except I was reading St. Peter v Pioneer Theatre.

Coming from an undergrad where I could easily read 100 pages of Lit and 20 pages of econ in one night, I've never been so confounded by having to spend an hour reading one 8 page opinion, and then spending the next hour briefing it.

Granted these are slight exaggerations, but I think it gets across the point of law school pretty well. I just keep telling myself it'll all become clear in the coming weeks.

I just read it. What a nightmare.

I don't even want to try to brief it. Maybe this case is the point "after a week or two" where most students drop briefing, haha.

Does anyone know anything about Jose Alvarez? Anything good or bad?

What about Barry Friedman?

You should check out the course evaluations. Alvarez hasn't taught 1L int. law before but there are some reviews of other courses. I've heard he's good. Friedman;s class is meant to be good, but pretty intense and reading heavy.

No clue about when they usually come in, but the deadline for 1L grades seems to be Jan. 15 this year.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
