I'm the same as you, minnesconsin. I wonder how many of "our kind" there will be?

I'm guessing that the 60% from the state of Wisconsin is a bit misleading--when I talked to admissions, they made it sound like a good number of students either deferred or took a year off to get in-state tuition.BobDole34 wrote:With 250 kids in the class, 60% from Wisconsin and UW-Madison the #1 represented undergrad ... I'm going to guess 10-25% of that class went to Madison for undergrad. Most will be from the '06-'09 classes, but I figure there are numerous non-trads in that group too.
Sorry, Geo. Not a cool way to start the morning..... I got the same email... I thought I withdrew a long time ago!geoanthem wrote:waitlist, rejected today. 164/3.43 from a top 20 ug.
Am deposited at Fordham anyway and had been meaning to withdraw from Wisc. Good luck to everyone else.
yeah, it kinda is a lousy way to start the morning, even with no intention of attending. Kinda sucks my first waitlist movement was a rejection. Oh well, I am still very happy with Fordham.hoffb86 wrote:Sorry, Geo. Not a cool way to start the morning..... I got the same email... As much as I liked Wisc., I wouldn't have gone there over Maryland. I like the mid-Atlantic too much.geoanthem wrote:yeah, it kinda is a lousy way to start the morning, even with no intention of attending. Kinda sucks my first waitlist movement was a rejection. I write to inform you that due to the unusually high number of students who accepted our initial offers of admission this year, it is clear that we will not be able to offer you a seat in the incoming Fall 2009 class, and therefore, your application for admission must be denied.
This year, we received close to 3000 applications for the Fall 2009, and are aiming to seat an entering class of 240 students. As I have shared with some of you already, we currently have over 300 people who have accepted our offer of admission, and have told us they intend to enroll. And while we are certainly gratified at the response we have received, it means that we are in the unenviable position of denying so many wonderful people. A large number of candidates who applied demonstrated strong qualifications and the ability to engage in the study of law, and it is especially unpleasant for us to turn away a myriad of qualified applicants.
However, if you matriculate this fall at an alternative law school, remember the offer we extended to you earlier; that of deferred admission as a transfer student in fall 2010. Simply maintain a 3.0 average (or equivalent) or rank in the top half of your class at the end of your first semester at any ABA accredited law school, complete the equivalent of a full-time first-year curriculum in good academic standing prior to enrollment here, complete the Law School transfer application, maintain good character and fitness, and we will accept you as a transfer.
Our transfer application will be available in early 2010. As your law studies evolve, please feel free to contact us or set up a time to meet with us regarding this process.
Whatever decisions you may make going forward; we wish you only the best in your future endeavors.
Sincerely,
Michael A. Hall
Assistant Dean for Admissions and Financial Aid
I'm sure that this was quasi-expected. I'm assuming that schools that don't require an actual seat deposit know that they are going to get over-enrolled. Anybody have any information about the last few years of UW-Madison and what information was presented to WL, rejects throughout the summer?BadgerLaw2012 wrote:Wow, check this LSN profile out: http://lawschoolnumbers.com/argent
Notice what was said: Wisconsin has 300 for a class of 240! This will dwindle down during the summer a bit, but this will have major impacts on our class especially in course selection. Also means the Class of 2013 will be insanely competitive, I'd think.
congrats on fordham though!geoanthem wrote:waitlist, rejected today. 164/3.43 from a top 20 ug.

Thanks. Have fun at Wic. I have no ill will towards the school, but nobody ever likes being told no.jcwilsn1 wrote:congrats on fordham though!geoanthem wrote:waitlist, rejected today. 164/3.43 from a top 20 ug.

I have a feeling that my 162/3.32 wouldnt get me in such an awesome school as UW-Madison come next year due to the competition increases.
Good luck in NYC! have fun with OS
Ummm no.... They haven't been accepting people with my numbers this year. More waitlists and YPing then previous years. look at LSN for this year:Simpler Times wrote:I'm still surprised you got dinged with a 164 and a 3.4
Was your personal statement about butchering hobos or something? (congrats on fordham)
