For those of you wondering, here's the skinny on Prof. Goldberg's CivPro reading list:

The correct version of Goldberg's booklist is the one in the pdf sent Monday.

Profs. O'Connell and Goldberg's section numbers were reversed in the bookstore's database. This affected both website searches and the labeling of shelved books (the section number for Goldberg's class was on the labels for O'Connell's texts and vice versa, but the profs names were correct on those labels). If you grabbed books off the shelf based on the course number/section number on the labels without checking the professor's name, you may want to confirm that you have the right books.

The bookstore is aware of the issue, and as far as I know will be relabeling the books and updating their database.

I apologize for any unnecessary confusion/concern I may have caused by bringing up the issue.

I can (sort of) appreciate the fact that many of the gunners had interesting/intelligent things to say. It was very different from my college where stupid gunner-wannabes kept saying stupid things, and I would have slapped them with the greatest pleasure.

No, I very much enjoyed the class -- but I also wanted to speak and kept losing the rat race. I should have been more proactive about the lottery seat assignment system.

Geez, that was a long thread. Was there a specific part you were curious about? So far, I've got eight callbacks and one offer, and I'm still waiting to hear from a bunch of my firms that haven't let people know yet.

In other words, I'm doing okay. I didn't think I was THAT unusual.

Congrats on the offer! I didn't think you'd read through the ENTIRE thread!! No, I was just generally distressed by the lack of CBs people were getting (and offers). I was just trying to get a sense of how the 2Ls were doing and feeling about it. It seems like a horrible situation.

Doesn't seem that bad. Admittedly, I did well academically and am on LR, but even my non-LR, non-Stone friends have a bunch of callbacks (one of them has one at Skadden, and another one has eight callbacks so far). I wonder if the folks on xoxo either bid way out of their range (i.e., Wachtell with a 2.5 GPA) or just don't interview well.

Admittedly, grades seem to be somewhat more important in the V20 this year than they were last year, especially if you are looking at non-NYC markets. In any case, I'm inclined to say that folks with that few callbacks are the exception.

I'm thanking my lucky stars every day. One of the V5 firm recruiters was telling me about all of the law schools they are no longer interviewing at, and they cut out some good T20 schools! CLS will always be marketable (especially, but not only, in NYC), and for that I am very grateful.

Re: study tips

I studied about half the time that many of my classmates did. I believe that, once you have a basic understanding of the material, pouring on extra hours will not help you. It's all about what you do with the materials you are given on the exam. After a certain point, extra study hours just do not correllate with better performance. Embrace this truth and you will be happier.

Ultimately, you've gotta do what works for you and just ignore what everyone else is doing. Especially ignore people who are doing more work than you are. My own method was simply to keep up with the reading all semester. I didn't mess with hornbooks, I just stayed on top of my reading. I started and finished my outlines within a month of exams (not earlier), and I took one or two practice exams for some of my classes. I worked through the E&E's during reading week. During the semester, all I did was the assigned reading. I had a lot of spare time and joined the musical second semester. I can count on one hand the number of times I raised my hand in class all year

I say this mainly to illustrate the success of what I Think is a very reasonable, and possibly very light, course of study during 1L.

Is there some way we can do another TLS CLS meetup? I missed most of the other meets because I live so far away, but now that I am here everyday for school, I'd like to meet some more of you.

Eh, Bobbitt uses Strauss's book for the majority of his reading. I think it's pretty common.
