I think its for 2Ls who can't be here for regular interviews or something? I overheard a conversation about them, but not well enough to understand what they are for. Definitely not us though.

So apparently me and a few other students have been listed as "inactive" so we weren't part of the 1L mailing list until today. Can anyone send me the book list that got sent out?

Thanks!

done.

I really should start my legal methods reading instead of whatever the hell it is I'm doing right now...

Edit: Turns out I'm too lazy to even read the whole homework assignment, let alone 70+ pages in the casebook.

I was part of this group as well and am wondering if there have been any other important/interesting emails in the past weeks/months.(Someone has already sent me the book list.)

Also: Has anyone else who has Suzanne Goldberg for CivPro noticed that the books on the .pdf sent yesterday are not the same as those on the list at the bookstore? If someone else hasn't cleared this up already, I'll email her to find out which list is correct...

Hey, does anyone know if the thing at the Pourhouse tonight is *actually* open bar, or just some bullshit specials?

they said it was open bar, but I'm not sure exactly what that means, besides extremely crowded and impossible to hear or audibly speak.

Whoahoho glad you noticed this. Shit, and to think I already bought books off the email circulated booklist. Are the books different completely or is it just an issue of the bookstore not having everything the booklist did (or vice versa or whatever)?

There are 4 books on the emailed list. They are:

-Subrin, et al., Civil Procedure: Doctrine, Practice and Context (3d ed.) (Aspen Press)

-Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, 2009-10 (West Publishers)

-Glannon, Civil Procedure: Examples and Explanations (6th ed.) (Aspen Publishers)

-Optional: Stern, Buffalo Creek Disaster (First Vintage Books 1976)

According to what I was told, there are only 2 on the list the bookstore has (one that isn't on the emailed list, one that is). They are:

-Hazard, et al., Pleading and Procedure: State and Federal Cases and Materials (10th Ed.) (West Law)

-Clermont, Federal Rules of Civil Procedure 2009 (West Law)

Did you buy the books from the emailed list @ the Columbia Bookstore? Were they labeled for that class/section?

the Glannon E + E is at the book store, but it's in a different section than the other law school books. If you walk directly back in a straight line from where the registers are there's a table full of E + Es and other supplemental books.

yeah...i was actually just wondering if the books from the emailed list were marked for goldberg's civpro section, or - if i was told - it's the other two that they have marked.

This is far to late to be of any real use, but... yes, it was open bar from 7-8. It was also absolutely packed, but drinks were surprisingly easy to get (considering it was a packed open bar). I hope these bar nights continue long after Legal Methods ends!

That batshit-crazy storm fried my Ethernet. Currently skimming the CLS wireless (I'm on 111th, so the range is fairly amazing). Did anyone else get fried?

I was hoping my Legal Methods book would get incinerated by lightning.

Is it for us or LLM's 2 or 3 Ls???
2Ls (and some 3Ls) do job interviews early, so we can get callbacks early and offers early. That's the early interview program. Many of you will do it next year.

Good luck on the first day of legal methods, folks. I had Sovern and, while he assigned a lot of reading, he was very kind and engaging.

So, which of you are the gunners who had your hands up through all two hours of legal methods this morning?

Haha, I'm half-jokingly wondering that too. Are you in Sovern's section?

Strauss wasn't so bad, was he?

I can (sort of) appreciate the fact that many of the gunners had interesting/intelligent things to say. It was very different from my college where stupid gunner-wannabes kept saying stupid things, and I would have slapped them with the greatest pleasure.

And no, I did not speak today.

I'd honestly prefer people volunteering to me getting randomly selected to answer something I don't know. Gun away.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
