Re: Columbia Law School 2012!
Oh good to know. I think we should be hearing back soon though, judging by previous years' ED stats.
Also, Explorer applied Nov. 4th and heard back already, so...I'm still a bit worried. The stakes are high for me because I'm actually already IN New York, and I'm pretty settled in. All my friends, connections, favorite restaurants, etc. are here. Please don't force me to leave, Columbia!

We are in exactly the same situation, if I don't get into Columbia, I'm basically kicked out of NYC (don't really want to go to NYU). And I have a REALLY cheap apartment too, so the stakes are especially high. C'mon Columbia, seriously!thistimereborn wrote:Oh good to know. I'll keep my fingers crossed for the both of us.

Last year on LSN, a couple people were accepted ED on 11/28/07 and then some more on 12/04/07, so hopefully this means you will be hearing from them soon!

So this thread has also become the official Columbia ED waiting thread.
Who wants to get together today and march on Morningside Heights demanding answers? I third the sentiment about wanting to stay in New York.

Wait, do you mean you were officially ED "wait-listed," or do you just mean that you're still waiting?

Man, I am so down with starting a coup at Columbia. I feel like I've been holding my breath since Monday. And the weird thing is, I never knew I wanted to stay this much until it became a very real possibility that I'd be moving on. Oh, NY!Dead Ringer wrote:So this thread has also become the official Columbia ED wait-list thread.

Does anyone know when Columbia RD folks can expect to hear back? Does Columbia give ED and RD decisions concurrently?

Does it say anything negative about your chances of being accepted ED if:
You went complete before the people who have been accepted went complete and you haven't gotten a decision yet?

Still too early to say, I think. Remember, we're not even supposed to hear back until "late December," according to the CLS website. Don't give up hope!thistimereborn wrote:Does it say anything negative about your chances of being accepted ED if:

Re: Columbia Law School 2012!
Yay! Just go IN via ED...notified via email. The way they communicate it was funny - it went something like this:
"Dear applicant,
We made a decision on your application and have mailed the following letter <attached in pdf format>"
and then you have to like click on that pdf file before you see your admission decision - prolonging the suspense eh?
So do you guys know how I'm suppose to withdraw from other law schools and what's the timeline for that?

Re: Columbia Law School 2012!
Congrats! I actually think it's cool that you get a .pdf of the decision - makes it feel more official without having to endure the agony of waiting for snail mail.tecumseh wrote:Yay! Just go IN via ED...notified via email. The way they communicate it was funny - it went something like this:

As for when you're supposed to withdraw, I think you're supposed to do that as soon as you hear about your ED acceptance. So the sooner the better.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
