+1. We only really have 48 or so hours before orientation and all that starts. Lets make those hours count, ladies and gents!

A friend of mine who is not on TLS has a question about loans, and, since people here seem very savvy about that sort of thing, I was wondering if someone might have an answer:
If I have a PLUS loan for parents, which is a federal loan for parents of dependent undergraduate students, am I in any way responsible for paying it?
Thanks!

Your friend should be fine. "Parent PLUS loans are the financial responsibility of the parents, not the student. If the student agrees to make payments on the PLUS loan, but fails to make the payments on time, the parents will be held responsible." (http://www.finaid.org/loans/parentloan.phtml)

Thanks dude.

Moving up to campus housing tomorrow! Super stoked for the 90-degree weather and the tons and tons of unpacking and setting up I have to do!

Hi Guys!

Also posting from Boston!

I have two really basic questions...

1) What is the difference between a hornbook and a commercial outline. I have my casebooks and commercial outlines ready to go but keep hearing the term 'hornbook'?

2) Are all the orientation events mandatory attendance.. some of them seem a bit pointless?

Thanks

So glad I got all my stuff earlier this week after seeing how packed the coop is.

There were well over 200 beers consumed tonight. Not to mention several bottles of hard liquor. I am impressed, HLS.

Got to meet quite a few TLSers, too!

So today I attempted to find the law school on campus, and after lots of wandering I eventually found it...I think :) I wasn't as successful at finding the bookstore so I can get the one book I still need. I need orientation really badly, thank goodness it's tomorrow!

So, more than one person tonight asked me, "so, you're that guy from that TLS thing, right?"

 *gulp* This place has long coattails...

Haha, I've also had at least one person ask me out of the blue if I post on TLS. In my case, I think the fact that not many HLS'ers are from Iowa gives me away.

Was that me? I think I called you out on it when you told me you were from Iowa.

Haha, yes it was. I think when I said I was from Iowa your follow-up was "So, this is kind of a weird question, but do you post on Top Law Schools?"

Iowa,

We're in the same section and I'm pretty sure I haven't met anyone from Iowa yet. This has got to change!

Agreed. We should definitely meet. I'd say I'm a long-haired brunette, but that doesn't narrow it down much in our section. Too bad I don't have an "I love corn" t-shirt to help the search. :)

Wait, Iowa, have we met? I have a feeling like we have but I'm not sure...

That's a good question. I'm not sure. But if you've met anyone here from Iowa chances are very good it was me.
