I'm getting married and securing a place to live first. But after that, I might get a Lexus or Mercedes

Yeah, kinda lame. But best performance for the money. Car must get from point A to point B. Nothing more.
You sound boring, I bet you want to do transactional law.

Besides, best performance for the price of a new civic with upgrades would be to get a used Camaro SS or something like that.

I prefer spending money on travel, attending insane black metal concerts that would result in hospitalization for 99% of people who post on this forum, expensive swords (cutting things is fun), expensive dark microbrews, and various asshattery.

Cars just tend to be boring. Point A to Point B!

But yeah, Camro is good. Civic, previous owner, just seems to never have problems and is really comfy though. Gonna stormtrooper that junt out, wheeee.
Tell me more about these crazy concerts, I'm interested in what they are like

lol @ people who haven't done the math on how little $ they'll have left after student loan payments, taxes, rent, retirement contributions, health insurance, clothing budget, food...
This is why we can't have nice things.

All I really want is a Porsche Panamera

and for the thread killers, I think this is just a thread where we get to fantasize. I doubt any of the other posters really think they can afford a Bugatti as first year associates, or even a Honda Civic for that matter.

Prius. Leonardo DiCaprio and Larry David drive one, so does my neighbor...that's the beauty of them. People just don't know how to judge your economic situation with the prius.

The salary isn't really the impediment/problem to the car. The fact that everyone and their mother wants to go NYC biglaw is. Considering that I'm surprised this thread even exists. NYC biglaw=no car. Secondary markets are another matter.

You're stuck in the present: Mercedes wants to roll out commercially produced hydrogen fuel cell cars by 2014.

I was lucky enough to have a high-paying job before law school, and still have my paid-for BMW 7 series as a first year attorney.

FWIW, I rarely drive the BMW because I think it sends the wrong message to clients. Instead, I drive a six-year-old boringmobile with an orig. MSRP of $30,000 give or take.
