Should I drop a course?

Post by inbal123 » Tue Feb 26, 2019 7:06 pm

Hello,

I'm a sophomore in college with a current cumulative gpa of 3.77 (~47 credits), majoring in political science and stats.
I am taking 5 courses this semester, and while I have been doing well in my 4 courses, I did not do well on a test for my major class.
Realistically, I cannot get anything above A- for that class, and I want to maximize my GPA over my remaining 3 semesters.
After discussing this with my advisor (who left it up to me) The two options are:
drop the course, and retake it in the fall with a professor who is known to be more lenient
or
continue the course, see my final grade and if unsatisfied, turn it into a P (pass).

Either a drop or a P seems fine - no way anybody on this forum knows enough about the details to help you beyond that.
