Waitlisted at William and Mary
I got waitlisted at W&M which is a total surprise to me (good surprise). I got the decision today. How long should I wait / When should I write a letter of continued interest?

Statements of Intent are due on Sunday so I anticipate some spots will open up.
I actually just relinquished my seat so there's at least one. It's a great school I just have different geo preferences
Best of luck to you both!

What were your numbers if you dont mind?
Lsat: 156
GPA 2.93
Degree GPA: 3.93
I have a VERY strong upward trend in the last 3 years (5 consecutive 4.0's and a 3.83)
strong letters of rec
and what i believe was a very strong personal statement (tied my fathers tragic car accident and my climbing a mountain together to portray perseverance in difficult situations)
Also a C&F issue of DWAI

Thanks, and I really appreciate the info! It is quite nice that they will be giving regular wait list updates on the website140dot6 wrote:Statements of Intent are due on Sunday so I anticipate some spots will open up.

He was accepted. He's talking about statements of intent for those who were admitted, not statements of interest for those who were waitlistedKPUSN07 wrote:Where did you see statements of interest due Sunday?140dot6 wrote:Statements of Intent are due on Sunday so I anticipate some spots will open up.

So.... does W&M take folks off the WL?

Pretty sure W&M takes almost no one off the WL. They fill the waitlist with people (instead of just rejecting them) and then they wait until really late in the summer to reject everyoneKPUSN07 wrote:So.... does W&M take folks off the WL?

I don't know about that. HLS, NYU, CLS, and NU have all had very big WL waves over the past week and a half to 2 weeks. Yes, they only have 1 deposit deadline and they received enough deposits to fill, but the waves on the t14 WLs might be very helpful for us from the standpoint of trickle down economics. My guess is that we'll see small movement but not no movementTransferAdvice18 wrote:Pretty sure W&M takes almost no one off the WL. I emailed them about a week ago - no movement on their end yet.... might see something in a few weeks would be my guess.

GULC is also hinting that WL movement is coming soon. Probably a safe bet that that might cause movement, same coast, same general area.KPUSN07 wrote:I emailed them about a week ago - no movement on their end yet.... might see something in a few weeks would be my guess.
