Dumb But Necessary Question about Deadline

Post by jrk02013 » Wed Feb 14, 2018 11:11 pm

So Duke and Northwestern have a 2/15 deadline. Does that mean by midnight at 2/14 or midnight at 2/15? I always forget. I'm about to submit both, but would like time to look over the optional essays, etc. if I have it. Thank you for your quick responses!

If the digital copy is sent on 2/15, I don't think that is considered late. But to be sure, I'd send it the morning of the fifteenth, if I was unable to complete it any sooner, so that way someone will be around before their office closes to confirm receipt. But to address the core of your concern, no there are not goblins waiting around at 12:01 in the morning cackling over late applications.

Since you're a relatively new poster, make sure you understand the downsides of applying this late in the cycle and the potential upside to delaying a year. If you can get in to either school now, there's a fair chance you could get in next year with a scholarship.
