Complex question about LSAC grade replacement policy

Post by shohreh » Wed Feb 14, 2018 3:02 pm

I transferred from a community college to a university. At that community college, I got two Cs.

When I transferred to this school, those grades were listed on my transcript with the grade but they aren’t included in my GPA.

So, I realize that these two Cs are really bogging me down. If I retake the courses at that college, they replace the grade and there’s no indication I got a C before. So that’s what I’m planning on doing. However, it’s still listed that I got a C on my university’s transcript.

What do I do? Will the LSAC count my community college grades twice? Will they ignore them on my university report?

Because as far as I know, you have to send in all transcripts. So I am going to send two, but isn’t it confusing since my university has my community college transcript within it?

I asked LSAC and they gave me a very copy-paste answer that didn't help.

I think you need to reply and state that they haven't adequately answered your question.

Also, talk to your registrar and ask what your current school does if your CC transcript is amended. Is there a process for changing your UG transcript?

In most cases, if you received a grade for a class LSAC is gonna see it. I had a similar thing where I received a D for a class, retook it in the summer, and made an A. Both the A and the D were still factored into my LSAC gpa. It sucks, but that's life.
