Financial Aid at Top School with Middle Class Parents

Post by Pipp » Sat Feb 03, 2018 6:51 pm

Hey yall. I'm looking to attend either Stanford or Harvard at this point--maybee Yale if I get in. Leaning towards Stanford of course ("law school in paradise? amirite??).

I only applied to YSH because I would kill myself if I didn’t get into one of the top 3. I also went to HYPSM for undergrad which means that anything less than YSH for law school is considered a failure in my circles. Sad but true.

And yes: not going to YSH is considered a failure for *me* and for the people around *me.* Just because you don’t think it is doesn’t make it any less true.

I graduated college a couple years ago and have been working in the finance industry, but I don't have too much saved up. Or at least not enough to make a dent out of tuition.

My parents make around ~$250K per year combined and they have a bunch of non liquid assets.

How much financial aid would I reasonably expect with this background?
