LSAT score necessary for T14 with 3.3
Hi,
I am currently a junior and I have a 3.3 ug GPA in Econ, with a slight upward trend,at a top 20/25 university. I would say I have average softs, including interning at a smaller firm for two summers but not much in the way of extracurriculars while at school. What LSAT would I need for a realistic shot at the top 14?
Thank you!

you'll need a 170+ but I always find these threads interesting. If someone said you needed a 160+, would you study less? Eat, sleep, and breathe the LSAT for 3-4 months and take the test. Then do it again and retake it. Don't worry about T14's right now. Worry about LR, LG, and RC.

Also, look for any classes that could help bump that GPA. Anything optional that you can excel in. Take a couple of community college classes in the summer and get As. Everything counts until your first degree is awarded.

Took me a 175 with a 3.2 to get accepted to Columbia. Only T14 to let me in, everywhere else waitlisted or rejected me me.Lawschoolhopefu wrote:Hi,

Thanks for all the replies, I just got a 162 on my first timed practice test so hopefully a 170+ will end up being attainable when I end up taking the actual exam.

That's surprising. When did you apply in the cycle and did you write any LOCIs?Graybrow wrote:Took me a 175 with a 3.2 to get accepted to Columbia. Only T14 to let me in, everywhere else waitlisted or rejected me me.Lawschoolhopefu wrote:Hi,

Take 16 units of GPA padder classes like directed resesrch and easy language. You really do need a huge load of units to make that GPA jump even by 0.1.
Did not go T14 but I opted to do full ride at a T20-30 range school with a 172. I personally thinking taking a full ride at a good school is a worthy alternative than debt at T14.

Re: LSAT score necessary for T14 with 3.3
I applied in late November, and I didn't write any LOCIs. My bet is I could have converted a handful of waitlists into acceptances, but after I got into Columbia I lost motivation to do that. I wasn't expecting any merit aid, so I doubt I could have done much in the way of negotiating. (though Columbia gave me an ass-ton of need-based aid for growing up working/middle class. Thanks Columbia!).spglasses wrote:That's surprising. When did you apply in the cycle and did you write any LOCIs?Graybrow wrote:Took me a 175 with a 3.2 to get accepted to Columbia. Columbia fell in love with me and admitted me early after some interviews and an exchange of emails, and I liked them a lot too. I ended up getting the highest GPA of my life during 1L, so it all worked out. haha

I get this idea, but be wary: some CC professors are notorious grade deflators.albanach wrote:Also, look for any classes that could help bump that GPA. Anything optional that you can excel in.
