Where do I realistically have a shot at?

LSAT: 156

GPA: 3.6

Undergrad: Top 50

Work Experience: 1.5 years at a start up

Other: Puerto Rican, First generation and LGBT

Do I have a shot at BU, BC, Temple or GW?

There is hardly anyone on LSN with similar stats and puerto rican, which is why I am asking here.

I see what you mean re: sparse numbers on LSN, but I think you totally have a shot at all 4. Your work experience will help, plus you could write a really interesting diversity statement (if you haven't already). You also could retake in June and either bump off waitlists or else reapply next year. With a 3.6 I would think you could boost your LSAT score (not that retaking the LSAT is any kind of picnic).

PR here, stats in profile. I got waitlisted at BC and GW, I’m in at Temple, and I’m still waiting on BU. The 3.6 is really great but I think you should really consider retaking because it will not only improve your chances at those schools but open up other schools as well.

Check my profile - but I was WL at GWU and BU, rejected at BC, and awaiting Temple - 156/2.7.... military active duty.

You are a URM and got waitlisted at BC with a 164...? I find that very hard to believe - that's at their 75th and your GPA is at about their 50th, and again, you are a URM.

Not hard to believe. First, the non-AA URM "boost" isn't cut and dry. Second, if you go through this year's BC thread and last year's, applicants with better numbers got WL/dinged.

Retake. Any LSAT between 155-159 generally puts you in a weird purgatory type position when it comes to schools. A lot of TTTs will accept 155 and lower, and to get into a T30 school you need at least a 160. Its kinda hard to explain, but there just aren't many schools out there that are worth going to even with considerable money that will accept a 156.

Wisconsin would be worth a look for you. GPA is just right and URM status can probably make up for the lower LSAT.

Did the OP indicate a burning desire to live in Wisconsin for the next few decades?

It was just a suggestion. It's a top 30 that would be friendly to his stats.

Who cares its a "top 30"? Its a decent law school if you want to work in small law/local da work in Wisconsin. Otherwise who cares where its ranked because its not getting you a job outside Wisconsin.
