Expecting a Poor LSAT. What to do?

Post by jsulli24 » Mon Dec 11, 2017 11:17 pm

I took the December 2017 test and am really banking on the score to compensate for my low GPA, however I don't feel confident at all. I'm currently completing app materials like essays to apply later this month, but now I'm thinking I should delay a cycle and focus my efforts on studying for this next administration. I'm 1.5 years out of college and hoped to matriculate in 2018, but I also want to apply with the best possible numbers. Will applying and getting rejected everywhere hurt my chances for reapplication if need be?

Wait and see the LSAT you actually get. There is absolutely nothing you can do about it now. Prepare your application materials as if you're going to submit. Then when you receive your LSAT score, assess and decide what you want to do.You can always reapply with a higher LSAT score- but conventional wisdom is, particularly in a competitive cycle like this one: apply with the highest LSAT score you can get.

retake. 1.5 years out of college still makes you a baby.

Lol, here's to hoping my LSAT score isn't as low as my apparent maturity. The GRE suggestion made me chuckle, but I'm definitely not starting over at ground zero!

GRE + low LSAT combo isn't likely to help much anyway, since your low LSAT will still be reported as part of the law school's ABA data.
