Possible Diversity Topic

Post by PanjandrumOfReason » Sat Nov 18, 2017 3:45 am

How do law schools view disabilities? Would they look at it as an example of "divserity," such that it would be a positive soft factor? Or would they view it as a "red flag" about a student's ability to succeed in law school?

Any comments appreciated. Thanks!

Asha's blog post on this topic is great.

In general, disabilities make useful DS topics, because they shape one's worldview in a meaningful way and also can demonstrate one's ability to contend with adversity. Certain mental illnesses, like mood disorders or anxiety disorders, might be the exception: there's still a substantial amount of stigma there.
