Should I take the LSAT? Forum

Hi,
I’m 36 y/o with a BS in Business from Elizabeth City State University which I earned almost 15 years ago with a 3.0 GPA. I’ve done tax preparation, but my only real work experience has been in food service.

I have no family of my own or major responsibilities, so is it too late for me to take the LSAT and go to law school?

What kind of law school can I get into with a 3.0?

Is this career path even realistic?

What kind of job can I expect?

I don't care that I'm a 0L, but I'm going to say this anyways. Your post absolutely screams "Idk what I want to do with my life". Do not lock yourself into either 1. A career you do until you die without knowing what that career could be/or even looks like day to day, or 2. A six figure JD program that you drop the second you realize law isn't for you.

Seriously, if you need to ask this broad a question about wtf you should do with your life, the answer is you should research more.

But if you break the 170s you're looking at a decent t13 shot with shit scholarship money.

1. Research this fourm on being a law student;applying, and the different practices of Law.

2. Practice for the LSAT using 7sage,Manhattan Prep, and Powerscore. Overall taking at least 20-30 practices test, before writing the real LSAT.

3. Take the LSAT aiming for a 168+, if your interested in the t-14 with possible scholly $. 161+ if your interested in major state/regional schools, with a scholly $$.

4. Profit??.. Hopefully!

I'm not sure where you're pulling your admission info from, but unless OP is a URM I'd bet my left nut they don't have a t14 shot without at least a 169. I'd bet both nuts that OP doesn't get "$" scholly w/o 170+.

I'm not saying this to be an ass, I'm saying this so OP doesn't shoot for "166+=t14", especially with $. B/c it doesn't.

But "166+" is still a flat lie. It's 168+ for a *chance* at t-14. You don't get auto admitted for being above one 75th.

Fair Point! I amended my post, at least a 168+. Overall is needed for a non urm "splitters". In all for a "chance" at the t-14.

OP doesn't mention URM status or lack thereof, but Elizabeth City State is an HBCU, so OP should be advised that certain racial minorities receive a documented boost in law school admissions, and if that applies to their case, the Under-represented forum on here should be added to the basic research recommendations.
