HI guys! What factors come into play when a school like NYU decides to offer or not offer a significant or full dean's scholarship?
Is it purely based on highest numbers? Students they think are most likely to have been accepted to higher ranked schools? Does URM status play a role? What are things you can do to increase your chances- does showing interest in the school increase your chances (YP) or maybe even decrease (less motivation to woo you)?

Any advice is appreciated!

HYSCCN don't do YP, so that's a non-issue.

Ultimately, full rides are a numbers game, so URM status impacts that. The point of partial-to-full scholarship at CCN is to draw students who are potentially going to be drawn to HYS. But the only decent indicator of full ride offers is having numbers over both 75ths.

I don't think anyone can give you a good answer for that. Scholarships aren't as predictable as admissions, and the URM boost is already difficult to quantify.
