Question about experiences before law school

Post by goabbiego » Sun Aug 13, 2017 1:28 am

Hi everyone. Sorry if this is a repeat of a previous thread but I'm wondering if teaching abroad is a good idea for me before I apply to law school. I graduated with a BS in biology in 2012 and worked at a non-profit health clinic. I realized this wasn't for me, got a paralegal position and have been working at the same firm for 2.5 years now. I decided I wanted to go to law school but I'd like to teach English abroad before I begin school. Would the jumps in my career (health --> legal --> education) raise eyebrows? I wonder if admissions would see these transitions and view me as an applicant who is unsure of what she wants.

Won't matter a bit.

it won't matter for admissions standards. it *may* have an effect on interviewing for jobs. but, if you have a good story/reason to employers this could actually work in your favor.
