Actually, the T3/T6/T14 grouping has less to do with a meaningful distinction in the "caliber" of the school and more to do with the fact that these 3/6/14 schools have been pretty consistently ranked in these bands over the past decade or so.

If you're letting the distinction between bands within the T14 determine what school you go to, you're doing it wrong.

Bingo!

School isn't like "5 is 3 better then 8 and "two worse than 3'"
but we can all agree that 14 > everybody else right???
Except that Georgetown sucks
UT, yo.

Is UT actually considered to have better reach than Georgetown now, or is "Georgetown sucks" just a meme?
its easier to just group them together in the "sucks" category.

I get the feeling that UT is considered stronger in its local market (Dallas/Houston inclusive) than Georgetown is in its own.

Yeah UT definitely has the dominance in the true south.

Ultimately they are pretty comparable.

UT has better fed clerk rates, GT sends more into Biglaw. Neither are really in the "sucks" category.

Ok, completely original thought experiment that I just made up (of which I'm 100% certain no one has posited on TLS since GT fell in the rankings this year):

0L with no preconceived career goals. Not retaking, no other offers. Full at UT, full at Georgetown. Where y'all goin'?

I mean, the fun thing about that hypo is that Georgetown doesn't give full rides. So unless you're gunning for a DC firm (and Georgetown still isn't great for that) or federal government, you're probably better off with UT in every circumstance.

A choice between UT and GULC should be region/money dependent. Also, GULC has a similar percentage of graduates in BL+FC% but has more graduates overall. I doubt UT would be as strong with a class the size of GULC's.

Yo, I'm almost certain that NYU is not 3.7, 3.8, and 3.9 exactly. They post that on their website and they said that to their class, but if you do some digging and look at their 509 report, they really just add to the nearest tenth. It was 3.65, 3.81, 3.89 last year and they rounded it then to 3.7, 3.8. and 3.9.

I'm guessing they did the same thing this year

GULC seems to give better geographic options and more chances at PI. I'd honestly probably struggle more with Georgetown vs Vandy just for location reasons.

As much as I love the GeorgeTTTTown memes, I'd probably choose GULC. But as others have mentioned, this won't be an actual situation since GULC doesn't give full rides.

Does anyone know where the Boston University numbers came from? I (briefly) looked and didn't see them, but could have easily skipped over them.
