Should I submit my application in October or December?

Post by Claire » Mon Mar 20, 2017 9:21 pm

HI I am currently a junior and applying for law school this year. I am wondering when is the best time to submit my application if I think my GPA and LSAT results will be better after fall semester and the December test? Thank you!!

If you are confident in getting your LSAT score higher, wait until after the December test, but if you already feel good about it and your gpa and lsat are well above median maybe apply in October, even if you plan on taking in December. If you're just waiting on your GPA unless it goes up by more than .04 or so I'm not sure it's really worth it to wait an extra 2- 3 months to apply.

Thank you!
By the way, will update my December score help? Does the committee consider my previous score or the updated one?

if you are retaking many schools will hold your app until the december score comes out, and will not look at your app until then. However, if you already are accepted and do better, yes it will get you more money most likely, and if you had been wait-listed it would help you get off the waitlist.
