Whoa, Chicago needs to calm down with that median GPA. Though I guess it was always a little crazy that Chicago's 25th was equal to NYU's and Columbia's medians.

Their bottom LSATs are much lower though. It's interesting to see the spreads of certain schools. Like Cornell will have a very tight range of LSATs while a school like UVA and even Penn this year has a big range from 25-75.

My friend went to a recruiting event where Stanford said their new 25/75ths. He didn't remember what the 25ths were but 75th were 3.97 and 173. Obviously if you want to wait for a documented source before you add that (and also the other half of the figures...), that makes perfect sense, but I thought I'd share in case anyone was interested. Seemed like a low 75th for LSAT esp. compared to H/Y.

Their LSAT scores are lower all around than H/Y from what I have seen.

That 75th GPA is out of control...

It would be great if whoever destroyed the formatting of this spreadsheet and significantly reduced its helpfulness would fix it. Or if anyone knows how to fix it in general, I, and likely many others, would be very grateful.

Pulling the LSAT medians and class sizes for the Entering Class of 2011 from the Official ABA-LSAC Guide, and the new medians and class sizes directly from school websites, I came up with this graph (click to enlarge):



Only 136 schools are listed. As of today, 61 schools still have not published their new LSAT median and class size.

Nice work! But I believe you have the admitted student LSAT for USF, instead of the enrolled class. So it should be 156 and -1.

WOW. GW reduced their class size by 76 (~16%) AND let their GPA median slip by 0.22 to maintain their LSAT median... That's crazy! This is gonna be a great cycle for splitters.

Florida's LSAT Median was originally posted as 162, but I just checked their page and now it's a 161. Hmmmm..

You might see this happen for some schools. This year the ABA moved the census date for the incoming class numbers back to October (to accommodate the new "certification" process). Some schools have released preliminary data based on, for example, the first day of classes (which was the old standard), but if people withdrew between then and October it could be enough to impact medians and change 25/75's. This is probably why many schools still have not released their entering 2012 numbers. In the current 'gotcha' climate, some schools are likely deciding it isn't worth the risk of even the appearance that they might be engaged in shenanigans.

The LSAC Official Guide should be out sometime in early spring this year, though. Much earlier than last year.

EDIT: I should also add that this will change will also make the decline in class sizes appear bigger than it really. All law schools have always lost students during the first semester for a variety of reasons (mostly personal rather than admission off waitlists), but that has never been reflected in the "official" data. Comparing this year to last year will be a bit apples to oranges, but after this year (assuming they don't change it again) the numbers will be comparable.

That's encouraging, the latest guide was released in mid-July, which rendered it all but useless for people trying to decide where to enroll in August. Do you know whether the LSAC Official Guide will be the first publication of the LSAC-certified medians?
