Come now Mike, doing well on the SAT has nothing to do with giving a shit in high school.
For instance, I got about 9 Ds (but always did just enough work to pass) and managed a 1560 after 2 SAT practice tests.

Minimal prep is still giving a shit lol. Waking up hung over and just making it there on time not knowing what to expect = not giving a shit.

But in all seriousness, your right a test like that does not prove who actually cared enough to try. In my HS it did though. Every Thursday night I had to hang out with my friends in the grade below or above me because I was the only one not in a prep class.

This predictor gives a margin of error of 5. That gives a band of 10 points. the actual score range of the LSAT is 120-180, i.e 60 point difference between the min and max scores.

So the point is, it's really not all that precise. That said, it does sure illustrate an existence of correlation between LSAT and SAT scores, and that's expected.

1300 SAT, so it gives me a 163 LSAT, which is actually roughly what I got on my first few prep tests. So my SAT (which I didn't study for) is roughly converted to my LSAT when I first started studying for it.

I'd say that's fairly accurate, or is for me at least. I did marginally better on the reading section of the SAT to end up getting the 1300, someone else who did better on the math and got the same overall score probably wouldn't get the same LSAT score.

Wow. That was almost 100% accurate for me. 1500 on LSAT ----> 173 on LSAT. Predicted 172.4.

No, that was nasty. Come now, think about it; how in the world could studying for the SAT possibly have anything to do with how you do on the LSAT? Your assignment is to figure out how it could be that the two tests seem to be correlated, and yet how much you studied for the SAT has nothing to do with how well you do on the LSATs. My assignment is to figure out whether you're trolling.

If you took the new LSAT just leave off the writing score and take the combined critical reading and math scores to use this formula, that's what the old SATs were before.

Actual - 160 (virtually no prep)

The fairly high degree of accuracy makes sense because a lot of people probably didn't prep for either test the first time they took them (TLS posters are still a rare bunch, most other people think these things are an aptitude test when it's just a measure of raw ability). Of course, dedicated studying makes this moot. Still a fun observation, though.

To review would imply that I've already gone over that material, which I haven't (in UG). What you're saying makes perfect sense, and I agree with you, but seeing so many people's scores predicted somewhat accurately caused some admittedly silly doubt.

Surprising, given that I’ve scored between 144-148 on my first few diagnostics.

This is somewhat motivating though - I have it in me to get that 170...
