Yeah, the story really doesn't add up, but who knows. Regardless of his background I doubt he is getting into NYU.

I kind of have to chuckle that someone was that pissed off at our discussion over interservice rivalries. Either way, we'll keep the discussion on track for LS admission purposes.

I think he is just a POG who is hoping to hype-up his service a bit to impress outsiders. Kind of like the fresh-outta-school boots who are caught in bars complaining about their PSD.

I am fairly sure that if you send it to an APO mailbox it should be free shipping, or at least it was when I was in. If you're sending it to a regular mailing address I would randomly guess over $50.

About $30-35 to PA depending on weight. You're only paying from NY to the location.

Feel like this needed a bump.

Is everyone here pretty much set on their attendance/finishing up apps? Just wondering if anyone is taking the LSAT next year or applying next cycle.

As long as the banter is playful, I'm all for shitting on other people's branches of service. Because goddamnit, everyone knows Army> Navy.

Pffft. Air Force > Army. We get you there, manage the GPS system you use to navigate, provide the PJs to extract you when you're hurt, and evac your wounded ass out. :D

all while never leaving the cinnabon. very impressive.

By that standard Marines>Army>AF because we have the Air Wing and dedicated personnel recovery teams on the MEU. Just don't ask us to stay any longer then six months, or get there on our own, or provide medicine, or perform religious services, or share credit with anyone ever.

Such BS, I have never seen a medevac chopper from anyone else other than the Army. That and I would rather get CAS from a couple of Apaches over any birds the Air Force or Marine Corp flies.

Who needs GPS, I have a compass.

Clearly someone has neither had the great pleasure of receiving fixed-wing air support nor felt the cheating sensation that comes from door-to-door fire support.

Agree on the medevac though.

Every time I deployed civilian airlines did 99.9% of the lifting in getting us from fort campbell -> shannon/ramstein -> kuwait. Yes, GPS rocks, I'll be sure to thank the civilian scientist that developed it. Fun story, my only interaction with PJs, after almost 2 1/2 years deployed, was recovering a crash site where 2 PJ crashhawks flew straight into the side of a mountain between Kabul and Bagram. Straight...into...a...mountain. Yes there was heavy fog, but still. Up side was there were no fatalities.

And yeah, actual evacs were done by army rotary wing.

I must admit though, huge props for your A-10s. Absolute fight-enders.

Received 10k/yr merit scholarship from Michigan that I don't think I would have received without vet status.

This is pretty standard here. They give it for "leadership."

We take very few unit photos because that is just not how we roll. When we do, people get the point.

This is more akin to how unit photos look for the cops. The rest of the AF is basically an embarrassment when it comes to dress & appearance, customs, etc.

Edit: Jesus that photo is huge.

Unrelated but found this...WTF are people thinking when they run?

I'm pretty sure the Navy would take offense to any implication that a branch of service has more uniforms than they do....
