The schools im trying to apply to have vague if any legnth direction for personal statements. Does lsac have wny certain character requirement or is there sort of an unspoken rule of legnth. Sorry in advance if the answer to this is elsewhere and i just overlooked it.

If they say anything about preferring 2 pages, I would say 2 pages. If they say the length is at your discretion I would stick between 2-3 pages.

I would say if unspecified then 1-2 pages. 3 pages absolute max. Double spaced or 1.5 spaced, normal font, reasonable margins.

No one wants to read more than 2 pages.

Yeh my thinking was about two pages or less. however i am right under two and i an trying to figure out if it would be better to squeeze the "why this particular school" portion in or submit a seperate essay on that. One school says to do it seperate the rest don't mention anything about the why so im kinda of torn.

Typically, a good rule of thumb is 2 pages, double spaced, font size 11-12, with 1 inch margins. Unless have an incredible story to tell that requires more than that, you should be able to keep it within that limit. Being able to write concisely is going to be viewed positively by adcoms. If you have trouble staying within that limit, PM me and I can help you shorten it.

Mine was about 2 pages with enough room left for a little 3-5 sentence Why X paragraph for schools that I didn't write a full on Why X essay for.
