Advisor ripped apart my PS

Post by april_ludgate » Wed Oct 04, 2017 11:40 pm

So I took my 10th draft to my law school advisor and she told me it was garbage and I have to start from scratch. Is anybody willing to give me a second opinion on that? I just have no idea if that's really the best move. Willing to swap as well!

Stop taking things to your pre-law advisor in general. I have yet to hear a story about one that describes someone who knows anything about law school admissions.

Not to bite off another's thread but i also would love if someone could take a look at my ps. It is really not coming together likely because I am a not a big storyteller. Thanks in advance

I'd be willing to look, though I don't know how much help I'd be, considering the title of this thread lol

I'm game to take a look (that goes for either of the folks in this thread asking for help).

Even without having read the OP's PS, I would still be curious to know if those who DID read it agree with the pre-law advisor!

I read it. I didn't think it was garbage (OP is a good writer), but I do think she needed to reframe the PS (start from scratch) such that it's clear why she wants to go to law school.

Not to toot my own horn, but I've commented on people's PSes here on TLS and they have found it helpful. Reach out if you think I can help!
