Elite PS editors only...

Post by Neal Caffrey » Fri May 05, 2017 3:50 pm

Please feel free to join the conversation ONLY if you have:

1. GPA: 3.75 or above,
2. LSAT: 165 or above, and
3. Been accepted to a T14 law school.

Now that that is behind us...

I don't really want to go to law school, but I don't know what else to do. How do I pick a PS topic and sound enthusiastic?

Also, please let me know if you want to tear apart my PS. I'd appreciate it.

I have to go. Not going sucks even more. At least I'll be making progress in life, even though it won't be fun.

Is someone going to hold a gun to your head for 3 years? Trust me dude, just because you get the "prestige" of going to a t13 doesn't mean anything to making progress in life.

Go start a business with the potential 200k you will be wasting at law school

Edit: this is such an obvious troll I can't believe I fell for it. This would be a normally 2/10, but because I took the bait OP gets a 6.2/10

Progress toward being an attorney. Do you want to be an attorney?

(You probably do not want to be an attorney.)

All the posters ITT meet your arbitrary guideline, there are many people on this board that regret going to law school. Also, law school personal statements aren't that important. BS something. If you can't do that, you won't be able to do law school.

Everyone here seems to think that they have the moral obligation to dissuade me from my goal. I've already made up my mind: I'M GOING! So help me out already, people! How 'bout some advice?

So if I have only 2 of the 3 listed requirements I can't give advice?

If you have only two of the three, then I've probably already thought of whatever you have to say.

This is a really stupid reason to go. You won't be making progress in life if you end up hating your job. Figure out what you're passionate about, then try to find a career where you can do something related to that thing.

Also, speaking as someone who is pretty L33T by your stupid, arbitrary standards, you really disincentivize people from helping you when you say you want help, but egotistically say that only some people are "qualified" enough to read your statement. GPA, LSAT, and rank of law school have NOTHING to do with writing ability. So, I'm going to decline, and I'd expect you'll catch more flies with honey if you change your tone.

But seriously, don't go to law school.

PM me if you want to work with me on my PS. Sorry about the arbitrary standards; I don't know how to weed out people who cannot write any better completely sober than I can completely drunk...

You are, without any reservations, a terrible troll. But please don't get better at it; just find a better use for your time.

Not a troll, just desperate for advice because I am sadly lacking in inspiration. By the way, I don't meet my own qualifications, so I admit they are arbitrary. Ignore them.

If you're "desperate for advice", then listen to the advice you've been given.

I would change up your requirements a bit. T14 is way too broad to be considered "elite"

Surely you wouldn't want advice from those peasants at UTTT or GeorgeTTTown.

I'll give you some information to work with:

Speech impediment from childhood.

Home Schooled (yes, =unsocialized)

BA in History with 4.0 GPA + post-bacc Paralegal Certification and paralegal experience

Strong sense of justice, strong desire to challenge ANY improper authority. Strong desire to help people and make the world a better place.

This is all real, no BS, no trolling. Sorry if I offended anyone with my snarky comments. Anyone like movies? I do.

It should definitely only be -

177+
3.95+
HYS only

I heard those kids are the only ones who are truly capable of editing a PS

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
