GPA Addendum rough. needs help Forum

It is imperative that I explain to the admissions committee why my GPA hovers only around the 3.1 mark. During first semester of college I was in transition from my immature high school study habits and earned only a 2.47 for that first semester. I quickly realized that what cut it in high school wasn’t working in college, and the very next semester earned a 3.54. The rest of my college career was burdened with bringing my cumulative GPA from that first semester onward. As is clearly seen in my transcripts, if that first semester could be written off to immaturity, my cumulative GPA would be in an entire new bracket.
